Colorado vital records can be
obtained in person, by mail or by fax. Credit cards aren't
accepted by the State Office unless you use a private service
such as VitalCheck. Certified copies of birth and death records
are available from
county offices (click for contact information). For
birth records dating 1863-1899, visit the Colorado State
Archives; which also includes a 1900-1939 marriage record index,
searchable by groom only.

Certified copies of birth
records can only be obtained by authorized individuals such as
parents, grandparents, stepparents, siblings, spouse; adult
children, stepchildren or grandchildren of the deceased as well
as legal representatives.

Certified copies of death
records can only be obtained by authorized individuals such as
parents, grandparents, stepparents, siblings, spouse; adult
children, stepchildren or grandchildren of the deceased as well

Verifications for the years
1940 to 1974 are not available from this office and must be
obtained from the county where the license was obtained.

Verifications for the years
1940 to 1967 are not available from this office and must be
obtained from the county where the divorce was granted.
