The Office of Vital Statistics
currently maintains around approximately 21.5 million vital
records for events occurring the state of Florida. The Office
maintains birth and death records generally from 1917 onwards,
but there are limited records for events occurring between
1865-1917 for birth records, and between 1877-1917 for death
records. Birth and death records are restricted until such time
they become public records.
