The Idaho Bureau of Vital
Records and Health Statistics maintains vital records dating
from July 1911 for birth and death records, and May 1947 for
marriage and divorce records. Vital records requested by mail
using the U.S. Postal Service are usually completed 2-3 weeks
after they're first received. For those requesting a certified
copy of a vital record for an event that occurred in the Idaho,
a photocopy of acceptable identification is required, as well as
proof of relation in some cases. Personal check or money order
should be made payable to Idaho Vital Statistics.

Birth records in the state of
Idaho are restricted for 100 years from the date of birth before
they become public records available to anyone. Otherwise, they
can only be requested and obtained by certain individuals.
