Records are restricted in the
state of New Mexico and can only be obtained by certain
individuals, such as immediate family of legal representative.
Birth and death records date from 1919 onwards, but some records
date back to 1880. Marriage and divorce records aren't
maintained by the department and must be obtained from the
relevant County Clerk or District Court, depending on the record
(see below). Personal check or money order should be made
payable to NM Vital Records.
